a choreographic tale

Artistic intention

Les Géantes (the giants) is a poetic and wonderful tale. Within mountains of paper, our two characters come to life, playing to become in turn the giant of the other. Human but monstrous, dangerous and fascinating, they will enjoy guiding us in their imaginary world, populated by spirits, shadows and captivating colors.

Gigantism is essentially, in Western mythologies, a masculine story. All the stories about the presence of gigantic characters depict ogres, titans, cyclops. Models of strength and violence, they represent primitive beings, obstacles to harmony and peace, that the gods and humans make a mission to surpass.

Les Géantes wish to transform this paradigm, taking inspiration from the complexity and depth of gigantic female figures founded in oral tradition around the world.

Like the divine Gaïa, Amalthea with the broken horn or Baobo with the bright laughter, our Giants become the nurseries and protectors of this world. Impressive, sensitive, strong, creative, they will make us travel in a microcosm made of paper, movement and light. A poetic odyssey for all eyes.
